On June 23, the vessel RHONE MAERSK berthed at Xiamen's Songyu Container Terminal, inaugurating a direct route to the U.S. West Coast. The TP9/WC6 route, co-launched by Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd under the Gemini Cooperation, deploys six 50,000–70,000-ton vessels for weekly service to Long Beach, USA, with transit times reduced to approximately 18 days—nearly one week faster. This expansion enriches Xiamen Port's deep-sea network, offers more efficient and expedient?logistics services for regional enterprises, and strengthens its global hub status. Currently, Xiamen Port operates 16 routes to major North American ports, with imminent additions including MSC's U.S. West Coast import route and an Emirates-Evergreen joint India route, further energizing regional trade.
