According to the Global Port Development Report 2021 recently released by Shanghai International Shipping Institute, Xiamen Port ranked 13 worldwide in terms of container throughput in 2021, marking a record high. By actively creating an internationally first-ranking business environment and boosting innovation-driven development, Xiamen Port realized high-quality development in 2021 with its annual container throughput exceeding 12 million TEUs (specifically 12,046,400 TEUs) for the first time and besting the Antwerp Port of Belgium, the second largest port of Europe. As an international transportation hub, Xiamen Port features 161 container liner routes to 143 ports in 53 countries and regions, fully covering "Belt & Road" countries and regions, BRICS countries, and RCEP countries.
