On July 12, 2023, the Marine Economy High-quality Development Workshop started in Xiamen, which was the first offline training course of the Innovation Training Base of the Global Development Promotion Center. Thirty senior government officials from 26 countries, including Brazil, Venezuela and Nigeria, specializing in various fields related to marine development, started an eight-day exchange and study tour in Xiamen. Fujian stands as a prominent province in the field of marine and fishery, boasting an impressive gross marine product of nearly 1.2 trillion Yuan in the previous year. Fujian holds the distinction of possessing the highest per capita possession and export volume of aquatic products in the country. After the inauguration of the Innovation Training Base of the Global Development Promotion Center in Xiamen in January this year, Xiamen City focused on the key areas of global development initiatives, built innovative training bases with high standards, and continuously expanded the pragmatic cooperation among BRICS countries and "BRICS+". In the upcoming phase, Xiamen will further leverage the BRICS Innovation Base and the Innovation Training Base of the Global Development Promotion Center to launch new training programs around global development hot topics such as industrial Internet and rural revitalization.
